In Europe, the most popular is the so-called “Euro pallet”, marked with the word “(EUR)”, the weight of which is about 25 kg. The history of the Euro pallet dates back to 1950, when the Swedish concern BT Industries used it as a universal pallet for all types of forklifts.
Euro pallet (EUR, EUR 1, EPAL) has dimensions of 1200 × 800 × 144 mm, and can withstand loads of up to 1500 kg. The boards of the table top and the three runners along the pallet are made of solid wood, while the supports can be made of solid or chipped wood.
Clean, “as new” looking palettes are classified as 1st quality. Dirty pallets with visible signs of wear are 2nd quality.
